I love the 80s

The title is self explanatory. I love the music, the style, and the culture. I even love that crack was really hot in the 80s. My other favorite decades are the 2000s and 1990s. Everything was just so freaking cool. Part of the 2000s appreciation is simply that I was born in 2005 so a lot of formative memories of mine happened in the 2000s. We did a decades project in AP US History so I chose the 80s. I’m really proud of my slideshow . My favorite thing about the 80s is mainly the music. I love New Edition and Madonna. Michael Jackson is awesome too but I grew up with him so he’s kind of like old news. I don’t really know how to say it nice. Meanwhile I started to listen to Madonna by myself and the same for New Edition. I only knew Candy Girl, Cool it Now, and If It Isn’t Love before I watched the BET biopic last December and became obsessed. I really like the general sound of music in the 80s. The production was different, and ever since taking Keyboarding in the last quarter of my s

Being Weird

I know that I'm a pretty weird girl, and I do my best to accept it but at times my anxiety comes back to swallow me. I guess today is one of those days lol. I reached out to some people and that's why my heart is pounding so badly. But I just have to deal with it, it's the only way to live.  Now that I've completed Stranger Things, I don't really know what to do. I've been reading this new manga , and I like it, but I'm not obsessed with it. It's fun, that's all. It's not like Arakawa Under the Bridge, or the series I read last summer where I spent every waking moment on them. I don't think there are many more series out there that can consume me the way the stuff I read last summer did. Maybe today I'll play the Sims. I am just so bored. I haven't watched any movies yet this summer. On the last day of school, I started La La Land, but after I went to bed that night, I did not touch it again. I'm going to get one of my sisters to

Stranger Things Season 4: Volume I

Stranger Things Season 4: Volume I Began: May 28, 2022 Completed: May 31, 2022 I finished watching the first volume of Stranger Things Season 4 earlier today. I liked it a lot. At first, I found it to be a bit of a tedious watch because of how long the episodes were. The episodes were already 50 minutes before, and now atleast another 30 were added. As things got more interesting, the length felt like nothing. Actually, it even felt like too little because of how invested I became in the plot. The final episode, episode 7, was 1 hour and 40 minutes long, the length of a feature film, and at the end, I was left yearning for more. Suffice to say, I definitely enjoyed the new episodes. SPOILERS AHEAD Now, let's get down to the nitty gritty. These are the things I want to discuss: Steve-Nancy Agenda Underutilization of Erica Uselessness of All Teams but the Hawkins Group Lame Jokes and Robin Sadie Sink and Millie Bobbie Brown Steve-Nancy Agenda I thought this was absolutely disgusting

Posting Frequency

Good Morning. Seeing as I am quite bored every day, I am going to attempt to post at least once a day. It will give me something to do. Hopefully, it will entertain or interest you as well. I finished watching Stranger Things Season 4: Volume I as I was brushing my teeth, so after I publish this post, I will be writing a review. It won't be the type of review where I give stars, though. I don't like to rate things. I'm just going to share my thoughts on the season as well as my hopes and predictions for the second part.

I will not be babysitting.

I attempted to find babysitting jobs and it was just so much hassle. They wanted me to be 18 and have my own car, and the best website I saw wanted me to pay to use it, like what the world??? I concluded that finding babysitting jobs online was ridiculous. Maybe I'll look for tutoring jobs. For babysitting, I'm going to attempt to find work by word of mouth. After looking at babysitting jobs, I got on Indeed and found two jobs I'd be willing to do: a temp job at Clayton State Barnes and Nobles, and another temp job, at Leslie's which is a pool care store. I did the Barnes and Nobles application all the way through but did not press submit because as we know, commitment sickens me. My stomach literally lurched every time I got closer to the final submit button. I didn't start the Leslie's application yet. I'm going to talk about it with my dad. I really need to get out of the house. Ugh, I hate summer. I hope my senior photo looks good. I don't think I

My Favorite Type of Manga

Hello. My last day of school was Thursday, May 26, 2022. Today is Sunday, May 29, 2022. I've only spent two days out of school, but it feels like much longer. I've found myself quite bored at home. However, two good things have happened. On Friday, I went to my school's graduation which was awesome. I got to see the seniors one last time. That same Friday, I began to read a manga called Arakawa Under the Bridge, which is now on the list of my favorite manga (which can be found on the sidebar underneath "Favorites ^_^"). I absolutely LOVED it! I completed the manga yesterday. 410 chapters went by like nothing! Wow. I love manga with absurd characters, like Beelzebub and Hinamatsuri. Actually, I believe I found this manga looking for series like Hinamatsuri because I loved it so much. Right now, I'm reading Genshiken, but I'm not really feeling it. I'm going to drop it and go back to looking for manga which give me the same wacky vibes as Arakawa Under t

Cinderella, 2021 - ★★★ (contains spoilers)

This review may contain spoilers. Cute. I love a musical the music was so good!!! The cast of this movie did an awesome job. I’d also like to give props to whoever arranged the musical numbers and choreography. Great job! I wish that there had been a proper making up between stepmother and cinderella. I did not like how it was wrapped up. Also, Gwen deserved much more character development. The whole movie her character felt like she was being used as a plot device since she herself had no personality or depth. Overall though this movie was cute and it was fun to watch i had a good time! - Letterboxd http://dlvr.it/SR7Khg

Slayful Week, Slayful Day, Slayful Slay

I've had an awesome week, and an especially great day today. I spoke with a mentor from a special program I am participating in and the conversation was so fun that we ended up going over the time we were supposed to end since he had a prior engagement. I'm finally watching the Camila Cabello Cinderella movie. I've been meaning to watch it for a while, but today I found out that Henry Braham was the cinematographer. I want to watch other things he worked on since I absolutely loved the Suicide Squad. My life is going great. I finally ended a friendship that caused me undue stress. The good times were great, but the bad times were absolute hell. I feel so light these days! Friday is my cousin's graduation at 11 AM, and my school's graduation is at 7 pm. I'm looking forward to attending both, especially my school's graduation because I know all of them, seeing as I am only one grade below them. At my cousin's school, I just know my cousin and I love him, b

Ghost World, 2001 - ½

All I have to say about this movie is why? Why would you make this? What was the point? It was boring and the characters were insufferable except for Becky, Scarlett Johansson’s character. Only reason why I watched it all the way through was because I enjoyed seeing young Scarlett Johansson. Enid was SO annoying. - Letterboxd http://dlvr.it/SQVZ99

Vogue: An Ode To The Marc Jacobs The Tote Bag

This image is from the Vogue article,  An Ode To The Marc Jacobs The Tote Bag . I think it's such a lovely photo. I bought my own MJ tote bag today, yasss! It is so beautiful!!! I got The Small Tote Bag in Black . After tax, it cost 210.60. I only have 9.33 left lol. I have 30 more bucks on the way, but 39.33 still isn't much. This summer I have  to get a job. I want more Marc Jacobs tote bags. I also want clothes, so I really need the money. My odd jobs are inconsistent so I can't rely on that to buy bags which cost over 200 after tax. Now, here are some general updates: - Today, I watched Brightburn, as well as Sparky and Micaela and Hamster PSA, so that's 3 more parts of James Gunn's filmography I've completed. - Right now, I am watching Movie 43. I really like it! This is so funny lol.

Sparky & Mikaela, 2008 - ★★★★

Donnie Darko, 2001 - ★★★★★ (contains spoilers)

This review may contain spoilers. Wow… just wow. It hurt me so bad that Donnie died. What a phenomenal movie! I really couldn’t tell what direction this movie was going as I watched it like was Donnie just crazy or was the stuff he was talling about real? They did a great job keeping the audience on the edge of our seats until the end. I really, really liked this movie. Jake Gyllenhaal did GREAT! - Letterboxd http://dlvr.it/SQBbvK

Meh

That's how I feel. Meh. I have this math homework to do and I know it's gonna be HORRIBLE. I added a Spotify playlist to this blog, so that's nice. I made some good progress today on my IB Reflective Project, received confirmation of 30 more community service hours (which brings my total to 71 out of 75), and got my tentative schedule, so that's nice. But I don't really feel too much. I'm gonna watch Tromeo and Juliet today. My friend wants me to watch Dr. Sleep and Malignant, so I know I need to knock those out if I'm gonna be watching so many movies. Last night, I filled all 3 rings on my Apple Watch for the first time. I'm going to attempt to exercise every night before my shower so I can fill the exercise ring. I usually fill my Move and Stand rings with no effort. I really want this week to end. I am just not in the mood at all. Actually, never mind. I'm going to prom to take photos on Saturday, ugh. Well, maybe it will be fun. We'll see. I

The Merits of Self-Slay

Yesterday, my mom and I braided my hair. It was a lot of work (not too much) but it’s very cute. Totally worth it! This has motivated me to start doing my own hair. After I take these braids out, I’m gonna do some passion twists. My friend Cassidy always does her hair and it is always super slay. I love that girl! I think she is so so SO cool. I wanted to post this yesterday but I was on the Blogger Plus app which sucks, so I just made a title then drafted it. Didn’t type anything lol. I didn’t know the blogger site on mobile worked great. I don’t need those apps after all. I’m feeling really good about my future appearance. My mom said she always wants my hair to look nice, so if a style is too hard, she will pay to get it done. I’m also considering getting my nails done. I’ve been seeing some very cute short acrylics. Might go ahead and get them. Things are really shaping up for the Enaminator! 😁 I was just in the ER on Saturday morning because of my stomach but it doesn’t even get

Movies, Movies, Movies!

This weekend, I watched 7 movies. 8 if you count completing Django Unchained on Friday. It was awesome! Not Django Unchained lol. That was meh but I think Leonardo DiCaprio’s performance was great. Anyways, I mean it was awesome to watch so many movies!!! Usually it’s hard for me to watch even one movie, but this weekend I knocked out 7. 😁 I am very happy about it. While I enjoyed the movies I watched this weekend, I found myself more into the story than production aspects for the most part, so I decided to find some movies with cool cinematography, so I could observe it. I’m gonna start with this list . My favorite movie cinematographically speaking is The Suicide Squad. It is also my favorite movie in general. I want to watch something that makes me feel how I felt about The Suicide Squad’s cinematography. I searched it up and found out the cinematographer’s name is Henry Braham. His filmography  seems interesting. Speaking of James Gunn, one of the movies I watched was Super, starr

I love a good movie/show about a movie/show. This was so funny and ridiculous, which makes the fact that it's based on real life so crazy! - Letterboxd http://dlvr.it/SPzXbt

Lady Bird, 2017 - ★★★★½ (contains spoilers)

This review may contain spoilers. I loved this! It balances the mediocrity of Lady Bird's life with humor and sentiment. She just wants to be somebody. As a fellow 17-year-old girl, I understand. It's beautiful to watch her grow up and leave behind the Lady Bird persona. Great job Lady Bird cast and crew! All of the characters were interesting. I really, really, liked this. http://dlvr.it/SPxLWl

Vendredi 06 Mai 2022

Yasss! I've done a lot of great work on this blog. I think it's finally where I want it to be. I really would like to keep this up as long as I can. Here are some updates: I ended up loving Serial Experiments Lain. Around Episode 10, I found myself really enjoying the show, and Lain, the main character. Now, I switch up a lot. I'm a flip-floppy girl, it's just who I am. But the way I was hating on Lain, I could never have foreseen this. In the end, the show was awesome. I think I gave it a 10 on MAL. This week I watched Coach Carter, The Social Network, and Django: Unchained. There are 20 minutes left of Django. I decided earlier this year I was going to watch all Tarantino's films after I found out he only has 9. I watched Kill Bill in February, but waching Django this week made me decide to just do a marathon. Well, it won't really be a marathon. More like a Tarantino streak. Anyways, I loved Coach Carter. It was great. I also really enjoyed The Social Network
