Movies, Movies, Movies!

This weekend, I watched 7 movies. 8 if you count completing Django Unchained on Friday. It was awesome! Not Django Unchained lol. That was meh but I think Leonardo DiCaprio’s performance was great. Anyways, I mean it was awesome to watch so many movies!!! Usually it’s hard for me to watch even one movie, but this weekend I knocked out 7. 😁 I am very happy about it. While I enjoyed the movies I watched this weekend, I found myself more into the story than production aspects for the most part, so I decided to find some movies with cool cinematography, so I could observe it. I’m gonna start with this list. My favorite movie cinematographically speaking is The Suicide Squad. It is also my favorite movie in general. I want to watch something that makes me feel how I felt about The Suicide Squad’s cinematography. I searched it up and found out the cinematographer’s name is Henry Braham. His filmography seems interesting. Speaking of James Gunn, one of the movies I watched was Super, starring Rainn Wilson. I loved it! James Gunn, you are my guy 4L. Elliot Page did a great job as well. His character was so funny!!! Boltie girl you CRAY! I started watching Girl, Interrupted last night. I think I’m halfway through. I’m not sure what to think of it yet. We’ll see once I finish.

Boogie Nights, 1997 - ★★½ (contains spoilers)

This review may contain spoilers.  why… IDK there were just too many questions I was left with.  Weird movie, I do not get why. Why was this made? What was the point? fun movie, just not what i expected based on the movie & PTA’s reps. Very weird movie. I just feel like even a tiny little moment of introspection from Amber Waves where she ponders how she can call a boy her son while having sex and doing coke with him could have been beneficial. Throughout the movie, there were multiple moments where if characters just questioned themselves for a tiny second, there would be a better impact. Instead, the movie seems vapid. It was fun, sure, but to not address all the mess that happened in it is so weird to me. And some things, Idk their relevance at all. Betty Barnett, useless character. Why do we care about her husband, Raymond? I did like how Amber Waves was becoming a director, I feel like that could have also been addressed. Basically, I hate how the movie glosses over a...
